Ms. Anita Ford

       Anita Ford was born on October 10, 1956, to Ms. Rosa Mae Ford. She departed this life on February 15, 2026.  Anita was raised by her grandparents, the late Ervin and Leila Ford in Fairmont, NC. Anita attended the Fairmont Public Schools and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1974.

     Anita continued her education at Kittrell Junior College in Kittrell, NC, where she received an Associate Degree. Anita then enrolled in Bennett College in Greensboro, N.C. where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979.

     Anita soon after began her long career as a Special Education teacher in the Guilford County School System. She had a true compassion for all the students she taught.

    After retirement, she then returned to Fairmont, where she lived until her untimely death.

    Anita was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin and Leila Ford; sister Brenda Turman; Aunt/Sister Janet Ford; Uncle/Brother Robert L. Ford, Sr. 

     She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Rosa Mae Thompson of Jamaica NY; Brothers, George W. Ford (Pamela) of Raleigh, NC and Lorenzo Thompson, Sr. of Elmont NY; sister Sheila Padgett (Nolan Sr.) of Tampa, FL; Aunt/Sister Mary Roberts (Thurmond) of Lumberton, NC; Uncles/Brothers Ervin L. Ford of Baltimore, MD and David Ford Sr. of Rockingham, NC; Cousin/Sister Robbin McMillan; two special cousins/ nephews who were raised in the home, Dedric Ford of Fairmont, NC and Dr. David Ford, Jr. of Ocean, NJ. She also leaves a cherished special friend, Dorothy Ezechukwu and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
